A couple of weeks ago we went to West Midlands Safari Park. We were travelling from Yorkshire to Devon and it seemed like the perfect place to break up the journey.
When we arrived at the park we drove around the safari part first. We let Bob sit in the front with us. I am not sure if this is allowed so don’t tell anyone! We were only doing a couple of miles an hour and it meant she could see the animals much better and feed the ones that came up to our windows.
There were lots of animals to see and Bob loved it! She was amazed!
A baby elephant had just been born and it was lovely to see it walking around with his mummy!
As we were in our 4×4 we got to do the off road part of the track in the lion enclosure. This gave us a much better view and it was quite exciting!
There were many varieties of dear and they all wanted some of our food!
We also had to stop for a while for a zebra crossing! 🙂 It walked along in front of our car for ages and the keeper had to come and move it along. The only photo I took then though was one of it’s bottom so I thought you’d prefer to see this one.
When we had finished the safari trail we went to explore the rest of the park.
We watched a fun sea lion show which Bob loved and saw some lovely penguins.
She also had a wonderful time in the fairground. There is a separate part just for young children and you can buy a wristband for £7.99. I thought this was really good value as if you bought tokens for the rides each ride cost £1.50. Bob loved being able to go on the rides as many times as she wished!
We had a wonderful day and we would definitely visit again if we were ever nearby.
I’ve never been, but it looks great and was always somewhere I intended to visit when I lived further South. Their faces when the animals are close are brilliant! 🙂
