29 weeks pregnant – Our baby is the size of a cucumber

I know that the fruit and vegetable comparisons are just a guideline and they can based on weight or length. I know that they don’t always make sense but that didn’t stop me being baffled by this week’s comparison.

How can my baby be the size of a cucumber? How would it fit?

I was even more shocked to learn that this comparison isn’t even based on the full length of the baby. It is based on the measurement from crown to rump at 29 weeks.

I think he must be very good at yoga!

Fortunately they don’t get much longer over the next 11 weeks. They may grow a few inches but most of their growth from now on will be weight gain.

Isn’t the human body such a fantastic thing! I’m always amazed when you give birth and look at your child that there was room for movement inside of you.

I loved reading this, I can remember thinking similar things when I was pregnant. The human body is indeed amazing x

Wow! Congrats! I can see why the cucumber comparison is a bit baffling. Tina – American mom of 4 living in South Africa

He he he! Too cute! It’s so cool to have a point of reference though, I remember likening my baby to random citrus fruits- lemon, to orange, to grapefruit!

It is so weird to think baby is that size – the comparison makes it so real. x

I LOVE these updates! We had a cute book years ago that compared baby to things like a stick of chewing gum! It was fab and my girls loved it!!
