Bow is teething already!
I have had my suspicions for a few weeks. His fists were constantly in his month and he was drooling. I kept saying to Michael that I thought he might be teething but I thought I must be mistaken as he was far too young.
When we went for his first set of immunisations at the beginning of December the nurse gave him the oral one first. When she look in his mouth she seemed shocked and said, ‘Are they teeth?’ Sure enough there were 2 whites bumps at the bottom.
I remember Bob having teeth by the time she was 6 months old and people were shocked when they saw them. I am not sure when she started teething. Bow is only 12 weeks old and he has been teething for several weeks.
Teething is awful at any age but it seems even worse with him being so young. I can’t even give him Ibuprofen to makes things easier for him. I wish there was more that I could do for him! With Bob I swore by Nelsons Teetha Granules. She would go from a screaming maniac to a calm, content little one in minutes. I thought I would need to wait until Bow was older to use these but I have checked and they are suitable from any age. Some are on their way to us as we speak. I hope they help Bow as much as they helped his sister!
I have also ordered him an amber teething anklet and I am crossing my fingers that it will ease his discomfort! I bought one when Bob was little but I didn’t end up using it in the end as they received some bad press. I have asked around and many people swear by them. I am hoping I will be one of those people soon!
They cope with so much don’t they babies! We swore by Nelsons Teetha when E cut his first two teeth at 4 months (and had 10 teeth by 10 months old before many other babies his age had even cut their first). I always planned to get an amber necklace but he was relatively untroubled so never got round to it. Until 13 months that is when the canines struck and he’d wake howling in pain. First night of wearing it and he had a much calmer night so while I can’t really explain how it works it seems to Thankfully we were all done with teeth by 20 months but he continued to wear it until he was 2.5 years old. Apparently it boosts immunity too and he rarely picked up any bugs.
