This post was written on the 28th February whilst I was still keeping my pregnancy a secret.
This week I had my first appointment with the midwife.
When I arrived at the Children’s Centre the young man on reception was panicking. An ambulance had just arrived and he told me that a lady who had just seen the midwife was having some difficulties. I worried for her and hoped she was alright! When we got to the waiting room the midwife was there with the lady, she looked like she was in lady but I still worried because of what the man had said.
The student midwife took my appointment. She was in her 3rd year and she was brilliant! I asked if the woman was alright and she told me that she was just in labour. I breathed a sigh of relief and told her what the receptionist had said. She said, ‘That is because he is a man.’ 🙂 In his defence he has probably never seen anyone in labour before and it can look quite scary.
My appointment went well. They took lots of blood tests which I am awaiting the results of and there was a trace of protein in my urine but the midwife said it was probably nothing to worry about. I am now waiting for a date for my 12 week scan. I am looking forward to my scan and hoping that everything is alright!
Congrats, good luck for your first scan x
Thank you! All was well with my first scan. I am 18 weeks now but still playing catch up from when I was keeping my pregnancy a secret. x
