Is anyone else completely out of proportion since having a baby?
I expected to put on weight during pregnancy but I didn’t expect this! I am currently about 4 lb’s heavier than I was pre pregnancy but this all seems to be on my tummy. The rest of me has gone back to how it was but I still seem to have a bump.
My suspicions were confirmed when I was congratulated the other day. I told them that yes I did have a bump but it was left over from having my 16 month old so congratulations weren’t really in order.
I have worked hard to lose weight since having Bob but it just seems to go from everywhere other than my tummy. Also, I seem to have a problem with bloating since having a baby. In a morning my tummy appears flat but the minute that I so much as sniff a lettuce leaf if pops out!
Have any of you struggled with this? I don’t mean to wish this on you but I would love someone to share my pain. I’m worried it’s just me. Have any of you overcome this? I would love to hear your stories and solutions! There might be hope!
Love,
Charlotte and Bump 🙂 x
Sadly this is a common problem. After four I don’t think that I will ever have a flat stomach again, but I’m sure that if you did lots of sit ups and crunches and horrible belly busting exercises, you could get rid of it. Frankly, I can’t be bothered!!
I think I am allergic to sit ups and I’m not even sure what crunches are!?! Oh well. :0) x
Sigh…..yes, it’s a common problem. After I had my oldest son (8 years ago), my body returned after about a year – and some serious time at the gym. With my second son, who is now 5, I had a C-Section and that little buldge on my lower abdomen is a permanant part of my body I’m afraid. I workout A LOT and see a personal trainer weekly, but that thing isn’t budging. Oh well – my babies are worth it <3
You are much more dedicated than I am! I think I may have to learn to love my Jelly Belly. :0( x
Oh I have this too, no-one has actually asked if I’m pregnant but I’m sure some people must think it! I suffered from separated stomach muscles during pregnancy and so any extra weight goes straight there and bulges out. It also limits the stomach exercises that I can do. I’m also noticing that I get much more bloated. I’m afraid I can’t offer any solutions, but I do look round at other mummies, and most of them have tummies too!
I think I may have a t shirt made saying ‘I’m not pregnant I’m a Mummy!’ Then we can celebrate our wobbly bits! ;o) x
[…] thought that I would give you a bump update. (You can read about my initial concerns here.) Things are now much worse in that department! I am no longer asked if I am pregnant, I am simply […]
