Fun Photo Fun - Bob's Special Smush

How much easier is it to take photographs when you have helpers? Usually I am trying to keep Bob in position, supervising an activity, trying to get her to smile and taking photographs all at the same time! In the photos that I manage to take, Bob is either looking directly at the camera (at me) or looking down. Last week, when my parents were visiting, it was much easier to take lovely photos! We decided to do some baking. [click here to read on]

Kirstie Allsop's Christmas Cake

I am always late making my Christmas cake. I intend to make one in October but, before I know it, December arrives and I still haven’t made one. I used to panic that I wouldn’t have time to feed my cake. Then, last year, I came across Kirstie’s Fruit Cake Recipe in the Kirstie Allsopp Craft book. This makes a lovely Christmas cake! Although it doesn’t hurt to feed the fruit cake, in this recipe you also boil the fruit [click here to read on]

Fun Photo Fun - Gingerbread Decorations

This week we have had lots of fun baking, decorating and eating some gingerbread decorations for our Christmas tree. My fun photo favourite last week was by Laurie from Pride In Photos. Bonfire Toffee Recipe

I have a bonfire toffee recipe that I used last year. It made toffee that tasted nice but it was really hard. I prefer my toffee to be chewy. I thought if I boiled the toffee for a shorter time it might make it chewy. I was wrong. The sugar didn’t dissolve and it tasted awful. I searched the Internet for a chewy toffee recipe and when I didn’t find any that I liked, I decided to make my own. [click here to read on]

Strawberries And Cream Cake Recipe

When I first started this blog I had intended to include a lot more posts about baking, hence the name. Since Bob came along I find it hard to find time to make a cup of tea, let alone bake! I can’t wait for when she is old enough to bake with me! We will have so much fun! Having said that, I don’t want to wish time away either. The other day I managed to get into the kitchen! Today's The Day The Teddy Bears Have Their Picnic

As some of you may know, I quite enjoy party planning and I am not one to do things by halves. If a party has a theme, I am in my element!!! We decided to have a teddy bears picnic to celebrate Bob’s first birthday, as she loves teddies! I searched the Internet for teddy bear themed party ware and found some fabulous plates, cups, napkins and party hats. I also found some gorgeous fabric tea sets by Oskar & [click here to read on]
