My husband’s birthday was on Thursday and I had planned to bake him a cake on Wednesday afternoon. I had intended to go shopping for a few ingredients but I stupidly left my purse at home. I returned home and was just wondering if I would have time to go to the shop again when I received an e-mail from www.bakerdays.com asking if I would like to review one of their letterbox cakes.

I knew that it was a long shot as I thought it would be impossible but I asked if there was any way they could get a cake to me the following day. When they said that they could bake one that day and have it with me the next I was delighted!

They had many lovely cakes to choose from and several different flavours. In the end I decided on the double chocolate chip with a photo of Bob on it. I was very tempted by the fisherman cake but then I couldn’t resist using a photograph.

The cake arrived the very next day! Thank you Baker Days! It was in a box that fit through the letterbox and inside was a lovely tin (containing the cake), balloons, candles and a party blower. It was like a little party in a box. I thought how lovely this would be to receive as a surprise and it gave me an idea for my friends that live far away and I don’t always see on their birthdays’.

My husband loved the cake and it was absolutely delicious! Really squidgy and chocolaty! (I’m sure that they are the technical baking terms.) Thanks again Baker days for saving the day!!! I will be buying your cakes for my far away friends in the future.
