Bob has an obsession with sunglasses. Every time we pass a children’s sunglasses stand she stares longingly at them and normally ends up leaving with a pair. I know that’s a bit naughty but I feel her pain. I’m the same with shoes!
The problem is that the children’s sun glasses aren’t strong enough for Bob and they don’t last very long.
We had a spotty pair that lost an arm, a star pair that lost both arms and a Hello Kitty pair that the lens popped out. I wonder if they sell indestructible toddler sunglasses?
I have seen her looking at my sunglasses with a familiar glint in her eye. One day I decided to let her try them on. I crossed my fingers and hoped that they wouldn’t lose an arm or a lens.
Bob loved wearing them! I think she may be getting a liking for designer sunglasses. I had better not tell her daddy! She thought that she was very grown up and couldn’t help posing for the camera. She also ended up carrying my bag around the garden like a proper little lady.
I had visions of when she is a teenager, hitting the shops with her friends on a Saturday afternoon. I didn;t like this idea and I started to panic! She is growing up far too fast and I am worried that she will be sweet 16 before I know it.
The last two years have passed in a blur and I am sometimes guilty of wishing the time away. At the moment I find myself thinking fondly of a time when Bob is fully potty trained. I will have to remind myself that time is already passing too quickly and cherish every accident! Well, maybe not cherish but I should definitely not tell the future to hurry up!
